They liked Happy Tails

"I cannot be more thankful that I found Happy Tails! My 3 year old foxhound Major went for the 100 day detox program and returned with amazing results. The grounds are beautiful with many places for the dogs to swim and run around freely and safely. I’ve already booked another visit for my dog to return next month. There is nowhere else I trust to leave my dog overnight. I know she’s under the best care and truly having the time of her life. Thanks Lisa and all the staff for everything you do!"

Erin French

"I have taken my two Aussies to Happy Tails since they were puppies. That's for more than 6 years and they go here once a week in average and they have also spent full weeks here when I had to travel for work or pleasure. They seem to love it here, judging upon how they pull to get inside whenever we get close to the reception area. They always came back healthy and tired. The exercise with the pack of friends is great for them. The pictures taken at Happy Tails speak for themselves. These are happy dogs."

Pack your pet's regular food and treats in labeled plastic or zip-lock bags for easy storage; no dishes or scoops needed. Please only bring the amount your pet will consume, as excess food cannot be returned. If your pet has special dietary needs, ensure the food is easy to prepare and portioned out. Contact us if you have any questions about special diets.

Are there any items I should not bring?

To prevent your pet from feeling restless, please leave beds, blankets, toys, and food bowls at home. We provide clean, disinfected bowls for all pets. Also, remember to remove your pet’s collar and leash at drop-off and bring them back at pickup, as we do not use them during the stay to avoid accidents.
How should I handle medications and special diets?

Do not mix medication with food. Bring all medications clearly marked with instructions. Ensure any special diets are easy for us to prepare and ideally portioned out before arrival.
What about health concerns and vaccinations?

Diarrhea, ticks, fleas, and other parasitic diseases are monitored closely, but prevention is primarily the pet owner's responsibility. We recommend regular veterinary checks for parasites and vaccinations. Proof of vaccinations, including Rabies, D2PP, and Bordetella, must be uploaded to your pet's profile, with valid expiry dates. We accept last-minute Bordetella vaccinations and exemptions with proper documentation.
Any tips for dealing with insects?

Unlike other treatments, K9 Advantix II kills and repels fleas, ticks and mosquitoes for up to four weeks and also protects against biting flies.

We pioneered cage free since 1996. Our business has specialized in accommodating incoming tourism and cottage dog guests whom we have never met before. We are very experienced in understanding different dogs, breeds and behaviours. We have continued to invest in business by enriching and enlarging our wonderful dog parklands. We have many different dogs parks of various sizes and terrains which enable us to better cater to new guests individual needs. If we see a new dog is perhaps too shy or giving us a questionable behaviour read we can start them in their own dog park so they can dispense of their nervous adrenalin. We can take our time and introduce him/her when they are ready to meet a compatible playmate, and help them integrate gradually into a larger play group.

We love to show how beautiful our property and there are a number of areas that people can watch the dogs in their dog parks from. However we think a big part of keeping our guests happy, secure and safe involves keeping them well back from visitors whom they can personalize. Dogs who hear, see or greet new people become fixated at the location this happens at and do not fully enjoy what the resort has to offer. We prefer to schedule and know who is coming to visit and ask those interested in visiting to complete prospective new customer profiles on themselves and their dogs prior to any visit. Coming in the front entrance you can see that we have set the parking area back from the resort so the dogs do not hear car locks, and vehicles as much. We have a 3 entry gate systems and use reception dog park areas we can lock when we are not open. Sometimes we are able to give you a tour of our resort building within those time frames but sometimes we can’t because our guests may be indoors resting or digesting a meal, etc. We do have a video on our Facebook showing the interior of our pavilion and its dog rooms and grooming room. We are a cage-free facility focusing on the happiness of our guests first and those who are in our client base do understands and respects that.

Absolutely! If you are looking to use us for your future travels or regular play day needs we think your dog is the best judge to whether we are right for their needs. We ask that you complete the new customer profile, upload your dogs' current vaccination PDF or photograph showing the next due dates we can validate in our system priory, book a play day. We will add a second complimentary play day you can book at your leisure. Two days for the price of one, so your dog's second visit will let you know they doubly enjoy us. We recommend choosing a time at the beginning of our arrival and departure times so we may be able to visit ourselves, answer questions and share about your dog's day, perhaps through some photographs.
